Dr. Doreen M. Francis PhD

Dr. Doreen M. Francis PhD – is the Founder and Director of the UK and Canadian Chapters of Logotherapy and the International Centre for MAPistheSOS (Meaning And Purpose is the Science Of Success) - Dr. Francis has worked in the field of Mental Health, for over thirty-five years, specializing in the psychotherapeutic treatment of mental illness and addictions. She is a teacher, trainer and clinician of Viktor Frankl’s Logotherapy and Existential Psychology. Following a certification in mental health and addictions counselling from George Brown College, Toronto, she achieved a Bachelor of Social Work and Psychology at Ryerson University, Toronto, and went on to complete a MA and PhD in Contemporary Psychoanalysis and psychological studies, at Brunel University, London, UK. Dr. Francis is now completing a second MSc in Psychology. She is also a Registered Social Worker in the UK as well as with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Dr. Francis is a member of the Board of Directors of the Viktor Frankl Institute and has a Diplomate certification in Logotherapy and accredited through the same Institute, Texas and Vienna. She also has a Jack Canfield Leadership Certification in Personal Development and Coaching. Dr. Francis is a published author of “The Psychomatrix – A Deeper Understanding of our Relationship with Pain”. She has also written a novel based on her research - "Shadow of Black within Grey". Dr. Francis has dedicated her career to pursuing a deeper understanding of human behavior, emotional and psychological pain, its impact, meaning and management.
